To commemorate IWC’s tenth year partnership with Mercedes-AMG, Iwc Watches Any Good Replica Orologihas released the IWC Ingenieur Automatic Edition AMG GT. It has broken new ground in the watch industry, with its introduction of the Ingenieur AMG GT as the first ever watch using boron carbide, the hardest known ceramic in the world. Requiring more than 5 complex and time-consuming stages to process the material, boron carbide is of similar hardness as diamond and yet, as light as aluminium, giving this remarkable timepiece a unique look with complete scratch resistance.
The new IWC Ingenieur serves as a tribute for the new Mercedes AMG GT sports car, which was assembled entirely in-house by Mercedes and sports a 4.0 litre V8 bi-turbo engine which allows it to reach 0-60mph in just under 3.7 seconds. In both their respective industries, they would become standard setters in both the performance and aesthetics departments.
Design wise, the Ingenieur draws inspiration from the Mercedes AMG GT, featuring a clean black dial with yellow accents (or better known as AMG’s exclusive colour – “solarbeam”). The five black zirconium oxide screws on the bezel provide greater symmetry and classiness on the 45mm case. Its rubber strap with yellow stitching is befittingly integrated with black Dinamica inlay – the same microfibre used by Mercedes to pad the interior upholstery of the new AMG GT sports car.
Powering this special launch is the IWC manufactured 80110-caliber, revealed through the transparent sapphire-glass back for watch collectors to admire its movement. The 80110-caliber comes with an integrated shock-absorption system, making it one of the most robust movements made by IWC. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a decent power reserve of 44 hours.
