You may expect on something dressier like that to see brightly polished palms – and I can see the allure. After getting the blued hands in sight, even though, I think they work quite well. For starters, it creates a sharp contrast to the white of the dialup, making for simple readability. The coloration can also be a bit shifty. By this, I mean it may seem a bright blue in 1 light, then shift to an almost-black color (and it appears darker in the majority of these photographs), which again speaks to some dressier piece. On the wrist, the 68g Baume & Mercier Hampton was a cure. Take particular note of the weight, as that’s merely about a featherweight when it has to do with automatics (or, possibly, I am just too utilized to steel dive watches). While the case back isn’t curved in any way, I found the match on my wrist to be great. The alligator strap included some extra texture into the watch, and the signed deployant clasp worked well, and I didn’t have any issues with it digging into my wrist when I had matters sized, which I appreciate. That’s something I’ve noticed is a larger problem when you’ve got a deployant on a strap – it can end up adding unnecessary mass, which then ends up digging into your skin. I think that the one we reviewed together with the blue handset is the most flexible, since you could easily swap into a brown strap onto this and also have a more casual look, which makes it more flexibility. Of course, you could also decide on a model that comes on the brown strap (in either an automatic or a walnut – the quartz model dropping the cost $1100). While dress watch purists may not agree with me, I really do think the Baume & Mercier Hampton is a superb art deco inspired apparel watch ready to have the office or a night out with a tux.
